2014 – Summer Camps – Teens

Back for the fifth summer, Three Cat Education is excited to present our unique line-up of teen summer camps for 2014 . Using the actor’s most important tools (Body, Voice and Imagination) campers will be challenged to discover, explore and develop every aspect of theatre – acting, singing and dance – under the instruction of our professional teaching artists. This will be unique opportunity that culminate in performances on the Berger Park Coach House (6205 N. Sheridan Road) stage. Campers this summer will be able to strengthen their skills and build friendships that will last a lifetime!

Teen Session 3: Theatre Tools for Teens – Classic Character Study

Ever notice how Shakespeare makes more sense when you hear his words? You can speak the speech! Build a repertoire of Shakespeare pieces as you work with our staff on finding character from the text and building scenes that flow conversationally in Shakespeare’s iambic pentameter. Our actors will also have an introductory lesson in stage combat.

Grades: 7th – 12th
Camp Dates/Times: August 4 – August 8, 2014 (9:00am-3:00pm)
Performance Dates/Times: Showcase will be held on the last day of camp (during camp hours)
Tuition: $195 (Early Bird: $150)

Teen Session 4: Argonautika
Student actors will use fantastical storytelling to tell the story of Argonautika. Argonautika recounts Jason’s perilous quest to capture the Golden Fleece. With goddesses at their side, Jason and his crew encounter monsters, nymphs, demons and other astonishing obstacles. Heroes are made and destroyed, and promises made in the name of love are broken.

Grades: 7th – 12th
Camp Dates/Times: August 11 – August 22, 2014 (9:00am-3:00pm)
Performance Dates/Times: Showcase will be held on the last day of camp (during camp hours)
Tuition: $350 (Early Bird: $300)

Teen Session 1: Theatre Tools for Teens – Improvisation
Following the long standing tradition of improvisation in Chicago’s Theatre scene, Three Cat Education is offering their students a chance to study improv and see if they really have what it takes! An advanced improv camps designed for our teen campers.

Grades: 7th – 12th
Camp Dates/Times: June 9 – June 13, 2014 (9:00am-3:00pm)
Performance Dates/Times: Showcase will be held on the last day of camp (during camp hours)
Tuition: $195 (Early Bird: $150)

Teen Session 2: Theatre Tools for Teens – Broadway Skills
The Broadway Skills focuses on vocal production, phrasing, rhythm and interpretation. You’ll learn how to use your whole body as an instrument in singing performance, as well as how to work with live accompaniment. The class culminates in a presentation of solo and ensemble numbers from the classic musical theater canon.

Grades: 7th – 12th
Camp Dates/Times: June 16 – June 20, 2014 (9:00am-3:00pm)
Performance Dates/Times: Showcase will be held on the last day of camp (during camp hours)
Tuition: $195 (Early Bird: $150)

House Keeping/Waiver:

Three Cat Education has the right to cancel a class or camp one week prior to start date. Minimum enrollment for each class is 9 students. Classes may be cancelled do to low enrollment. Refund will be processed if a class or camp in cancelled.

There will be no refunds available if a student drops a class or camp unless the spot can be filled from a waiting list. If the spot can be filled, a refund (less a small processing fee) will be given.
