THREE CAT EDUCATION RETURNS TO THE SKOKIE THEATRE

(Skokie, IL) Three Cat Productions is bundled up for the winter and ready to share the warmth with Three Cat Education’s new class offerings! The Winter Term begins February 16th and runs through March 26th, 2011. Our Spring Production, ‘Cinderella’, will be holding auditions March 26th, 2011. Both classes and productions will be held at the Skokie Theatre, located at 7924 N. Lincoln Avenue, Skokie, Illinois 60077.

Three Cat Education offers children and teens an opportunity to experience the world of theater and cabaret in a safe nurturing environment. Exploring musicals, plays, cabaret and show choir, our educational offerings teach kids the fundamentals of performance with potential opportunities to appear in venues throughout the Chicagoland area.

If you are looking for a way to get pumped about the winter season and ready for the spring, Three Cat Education has partnered with The Skokie Theatre once again to bring you a solid selection of classes. Not only is there a variety of classes, they are available for a variety of ages!

“Coming out of the success from our summer camps we found that a large amount of our feedback included inquiries about our class offerings throughout the year,” states Jacque Lueken, Executive Director, Three Cat Education. “Thanks to the partnership Three Cat Education has with The Skokie Theatre I am thrilled that we are able to extend our offerings beyond summer camps ringing in the New Year in 2011 with our first session of winter classes and spring production.”

Looking for a way to help the week pass by? Here are two great class offerings on Wednesdays from 4 – 5:30pm.

Love GLEE? Come spend Wednesdays singing, dancing and learning the mechanics of show choir by putting together and performing an entire competition-style show. Prepare to work hard, be proud and be ready to fill your hearts with GLEE! ‘Golly Gee Glee’ is for teenager and will be taught by Jason Smith, Artist Director, Three Cat Productions.

Following the long standing tradition of improvisation in Chicago’s Theatre scene, Three Cat Education is offering their students a chance to study improv and see if they really have what it takes! Using games and exercises in improvisation students will learn how to create a character and work up to performing scenes on stage…completely Off the Cuff! ‘Off the Cuff’ is for 2nd – 5th graders and will be taught by Jacque Lueken.

Weekends never full enough? We have two other fantastic class offerings on Saturdays from 12:30 – 2:00pm, including a special offering just for the Adults!

Ever wondered if you have what it takes to make it on Broadway? In this class, Three Cat Education challenges students to build skills in acting, singing and dance through scene work, vocal coaching and choreography. Sign up now to see if you can build the skills to truly become a Triple Threat! ‘Broadway Bound’ is for 2nd – 5th graders and will be taught by Jacque Lueken

For the Adults, ever wondered what it takes to create a cabaret performance? Did you perform in the past and find that you miss it? In this class, Three Cat Education challenges our Adult students in singing, dancing and patter development through vocal coaching, choreography and storytelling. This class includes both solo and choral work. Sign up now to see if you have what it takes to return to the stage! ‘Cabaret Choir’ is for adults only and is led by Jason Smith.

Three Cat Education celebrates spring with our youth production of ‘Cinderella!’ Looking for a place to perform? Join our professional staff on stage in this national premiere of ‘Cinderella’, featuring 4 original songs by composer Ric Brutnall. Flex your acting, singing and dancing talents by taking part in this production that culminates in performances on the Skokie Theatre stage with 5 performances, directed by Jacque Lueken. Open to all ages!
