Karen and Steve Multer’s songs “Straight for the Stars” and “Windows on the World” are currently featured in the new musical revue “Chicago Is! A Hometown Musical Revue“.
Steve & Karen Multer (ASCAP, AEA, Dramatists Guild) have licensed songs for TV and film including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (CBS), Entourage (HBO), Legally Blondes (MGM/ABC) and many more. Two-time winners of the Billboard World Song Contest and three-time winners in the Great American Song Contest, they’ve received radio airplay in over 150 jazz and A/C markets around the world, been featured on 3 compilation disc releases by SONY/BMG, and are 10-time recipients of the ASCAPlus Award (2005-2014). Two full-length original studio albums with their vocal jazz quartet, Tonic, were hailed by Variety, Jazz Review, AMG, Cy Coleman, and Alan & Marilyn Bergman.
Multer & Multer are 2011 Dramatist Guild Fellows and finalists for the 2014 Kleban Prize. Their first original musical, code name: CYNTHIA, has been given developmental workshops and public readings produced by Chicago Dramatists, Porchlight Music Theatre, Ball State University, Point Park University, and The Chicago College of Performing Arts. Winner of the Pallas Theatre Collective 2014 TableRead competition, the show will be presented in a public performance at the International Spy Museum in Washington, D.C. on July 9, 2015 followed the play’s premiere production with Pallas from July 29-August 16, 2015.
