Roy was born amidst the tobacco fields of rural Kentucky, but quickly moved to the cornfields of rural Illinois.  He spent his youth doing musical theatre, studying composition, and doing unmentionable things along the backroads downstate.  After a few years of non-curricular activities just off campus of the local university, he headed for bigger and brighter things in Chicago.  Less than a year after moving to Chicago, Roy found a home in the local LGBT music community, conducting and performing in several community ensembles.  When the Gay Games came to town, he arranged and conducted for an ensemble of international performers.  His passion for performance led him to new and experimental musical theatre, and he has composed, arranged and music directed several intriguing and mind-altering shows. He continues his artistic journey as he embarks upon his third show with ThreeCat, and looks forward to many more in the future.
