(Chicago, IL) Three Cat Productions presents the world premiere of a new musical revue At Mister Kelly’s at the Chicago Park District’s Berger Park Coach House Theater at 6205 N. Sheridan Road (Edgewater by Granville el stop on Red Line). Mister Kelly’s was a tiny supper club located at 1028 N. Rush Street from 1957 to 1975.
Artists entered the stage from the kitchen, and there was only room for 150 people. But the history that passed through that club was huge. Sarah Vaughan, Barbra Streisand, and Barry Manilow sang there. A surprising list of comedians from Bob Newhart to Phyllis Diller to Bill Cosby got their start at the club. Travel back in time and hang your hat At Mister Kelly’s in this musical homage to an icon of Chicago history.
At Mister Kelly’s features original music and arrangements by Gary Gimmestad. Book by Jason Paul Smith with original comedic material by Rob Dorn and Daniel Mozurkewich. The cast includes Elya Bottiger, Christie Coran, Jake Degler, Alisha Fabbi, Siobhan McKissic, Daniel Mozurkewich, and Watson Swift.
The play is directed by Jason Paul Smith, Three Cat Productions, Artistic Director. Resident Musical Director is Roy A. Freeman. Resident Stage Manager is Jess Koster. Resident Lighting and Set Designer is Pat Henderson.
