Rachel Grace Friend originated the role of Mama Lauren in Three Cat Production’s 2018 world premier of the musical Spark. Other Chicago projects include The Hopper Sketches at Arts on Elston gallery, Solutions in Three Cat Production’s Next Draft Reading Series and Granite Pass in their New Work Festival, The Vagina Monologuesat Theatre Building Chicago, and Democracy Burlesque political comedy troupe, where she sang the global-warming classic Love on an Ice Flow, dressed as a polar bear. She sang folk and roots at fairs, cafes and clubs with Rob & Rachel.
New York projects included The Diary of Anne Frank at Summit Playhouse, The Fencing Zone at the Nameless Theatre, and choral work in Regina Opera’s Tosca and Pagliacci, Handel’s Messiah, and cabaret with Unity Players and the Royalty Court Theatre.
Rachel is a graduate of New York’s American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and also studied acting under Herbert Berghof, and voice under Joy Holly. She is a student of Egyptian dance, certified to prune street trees of Chicago and New York, a Master Composter, and avid gardener, bicyclist, calligraphist, and dogwalker.
