Steve Clark’s song “Chicago” is featured in our musical revue “Chicago Is!: A Hometown Musical Revue“.

Steve Clark is a self-taught songwriter and theatre composer.  His songs have been performed in a children’s show about inventors (From Thought to Finish), with the social justice theatre Scrap Mettle S.O.U.L. (Borderline, Inspiration Café), and with the experimental Tantalus Theatre Group (Ragnarok, Toy Chest, The Strange Dreams of Nobody in Particular.) With co-composer Ed Plough and playwright Kalena Victoria Dickerson he has written three full-length musicals: a philosophical groove interpretation of Sinclair’s The Jungle called Slide, a sci-fi buddy-comedy outer-space road-trip musical called Jim and Dave (‘s Blood Meets Jupiter), and a modern midwestern romantic epic called Of Moonjays & Motorcycles, based on Shakespeare’s Pericles.  More recently, he developed a new adaptation of A Christmas Carol with an eight-piece folk ensemble (The Haunting of Old Ebenezer.) Steve is an alumnus of the Midwest New Musicals Workshop and “Story Into Song” courses at Chicago Dramatists, and is a member of the Dramatists Guild.
